wacken.beer is a small but strongly characterful online shop for craft beer, merchandise and event bookings, developed and maintained by total10.
The shop brings along topics that don't come up in typical product ranges. The most striking is the deposit system for reusable bottles: a deposit is set per product, shown transparently at checkout, and carried through the entire order process. On top of that comes age verification for shipping alcohol, a legal requirement that's built directly into the checkout flow.
The shop runs two dedicated customer groups, one for end customers and one for trade buyers, with different tax and pricing logic. Event products such as brewery tours sell through the same shop foundation as bottles and merchandise, which simplifies maintenance. We look after the content side with a dedicated blog drawing on the brand's world.
The design picks up the brand world consistently: a dominant dark green, condensed display typography with Anton, Roboto for the body, a clear, bold design.
